Hi Raquel, I heard that you did some work on our greenhouse? What a surprise! Thank you! I am wondering if you'd please be able to post here so that both Christopher and I can be in the loop on communications and offer feedback when needed?

I would love to finalize the vision planning for the space. Do we have a drawing yet?

Hello Guys, I’m finishing up delivering the following:
I have a drawing with all the specifications from the site survey. I am finishing a PDF file with the following, taking into consideration everything we spoke about at the beginning:
Moodboard
Plant list
Planting plan
Sketch
I was thinking of doing a SketchUp (compuet) design too, but this is time consuming and better to provide mode details for execution as well, I´ll have it ready by tomorrow.

Hi everyone,
I’m sorry I couldn’t attach the PDF to the platform I’ll keep trying. In the meantime, I have shared it with Shanti via WhatsApp and I added the Google Drive link at the bottom of this message. I added a plant list, if you’re curious to check them out, they’re all good for this climate and just meant to give options for different forms and colors. I’m not suggesting you buy them all on the contrary, it’s to help pick a few. I like designing the sketch on the computer, but it’s time consuming, so sorry if the sketch is horrendous, I can explain when we talk.
When you copy the Google link, please delete the > at the front, weirdly it keeps adding itself when I save this message
Thank you
Raquel

Hi Raquel, Thank you so much for the work putting this together for Christopher and I! I look forward to spending more time looking it over, I was able to see it using the link. Christopher and I will chat to put our thoughts together toward a conversation about moving forward. I'll see if I can get a look at those greenhouse pics too. Sorry you are having trouble. :-)

Hi Raquel, Jessica has offered to help you make progress on the garden project. I would like to use this chat to document anything that is getting completed starting now.

Good morning Raquel, Christopher and I talked and we're wanting to focus in on one area with the time we have remaining. I understand you were laying out a path that will begin to help define the area we want to work on the east side of the grassy area. Can you please share a photo or two so I can see what's been worked on? Can you help us with a bit more focus what plants we can incorporate into this area to combine with what is already there -- perhaps there are some plants from the mood boards that will work? Did you get to visit the nursery in Pana to see what they have to offer? I'm going to post to the San Marcos community to see if anyone has plants they are thinning out from their gardens to sell or share. Thanks for your help!

Good morning Jessica,
Yes, I’m happy this has been figured out. I’ve done plenty of volunteering, and it’s great to know the starting point and the work schedule, it feels more organized now, helps me understand the overall scope. The property is quite large, so having this clarity is really helpful.
As I mentioned to Christopher, I was a bit confused about the budget and what you both decided to move forward with. Normally, I’m provided with a set budget to go to Panajachel and purchase plants, so I’d like to understand how that will be handled in this case.
I also mentioned this when I sent you the PDF I worked on to maybe have a meeting to go over it together. Normally, a garden design has a clear structure and some repetition of plants throughout the space for harmony and flow, but if you prefer a more random and varied style, that’s completely your choice.
As per Christopher´s suggestion, we’ll focus on the front garden. I’m currently weeding and preparing the area to propagate the ground cover, since I’m also transferring a few plants to the back border. The idea is to build up that layer gradually.
I’ll be starting around 10/11 AM, working a couple of hours Monday through Friday. Please let me know if this schedule works for you.
Thank you,
Raquel

Some Plants I think could look good are
Salvia
Ferns
Lavender/ rosemary
Tropical plants
Grasses and cosmos maybe could blend in well
(All chosen to support native species and pollinators)

To keep you in the loop on some tasks from this past week:
Renewed my visa so I could stay longer here got back quite late Monday.
Made breakfast and helped Christopher move his things from the other house to this one (Tuesday and Wednesday).
Had a meeting with Chris to discuss expectations, the schedule, and details to come up with a real plan.
Friday: Bought food for Loba, laid out the path, did some deadheading, weeded the planting area, and helped make dinner.
Been feeding the cat regularly and Loba occasionally when she’s around.
Today I’ll finish weeding, do some transplanting, and propagate ground cover I’ll send you pictures later.

Thank you for the updates Raquel.
There are a few things I'm not entirely clear on, like what is getting moved? Perhaps we jump on a quick video call while you are working so I can see to better understand? I can be reached on WhatsApp at +1 508-224-5504. I can probably be available Tuesday.
The plants you list are all things I like as well as the giant taro you had in the photo, though I know it prefers to have a bit of shade from the sun. I didn't get a response from my post to the community asking about thinned plants from other gardens. I know there are plants out there that can be thinned out, but I'll work on that again another time.
It sounds like you are saying we just set a budget to go to Pana with, even though we don't know what their selection is nor the cost range of the plants? We can do that, it just is not always the way I do it.
Please do send the pictures. I continue to be very worried about the loss of favorite and new plants, in both the greenhouse and garden since I can't see what's happening. A few pictures go a long way to help.
Thanks,
Jessica

Hello,
Worked a total of 5 hours, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:15 p.m., doing labor work.
Transplanted the tall Canna indica to the back border along the planting area where noting was.
Trimmed the ficus creeper — I noticed it hasn’t been trimmed in a long time and was spreading under the soil, so I tried to contain and cut it back.
Weeded along the garden bed and aerated the soil.
Some palmgrass had self-seeded, so I dug a few out to replant the some canna indica.I can replant the remaining plam grass along the planting area or somewhere else and leave that space for new plants — up to you.
Planted a small self-seeded taro one on the left side.
Filled in holes with soil where other plants used to be. I’ll be transferring some ground cover here next.
Moved all material and organic matter to the compost area.
Would you like to bring cuttings from the other property or buy new ones?
I’ll work on moving the wood from the lemongrass/raspberry area to the compost pile.
The taro wasn’t moved.

Regarding Pana. No, I understand, I was just wondering how this is handled in terms of transportation money. I love cats and dogs, and I didn’t mind buying food for Loba and the cat (both canned and dry), but I think it’s fair for the trip cost to Panajachel to be covered round trip. Since that wasn’t mentioned, I just wanted to clarify.
Anyway, thank you for everything this is my passion, and I really love sharing it with like-minded people. I’ve done a lot of volunteering, and it has always been an extremely positive experience, and I’d like to keep it that way. Thank you

Thank you for the photos!
Yes, we can pay for your transport to Pana, no problem. The cat has adopted the property, after the previous one was poisoned, and past renters have fed it. So, it calls our place home. I believe Christopher typically asks someone to care for Loba when he's not there. I'm glad you like pets!
There is someone in San Pedro who has offered us some plants. What do you think about these? Some I know and some I'm not familiar with. Here's what she has. Is it worth it to pursue these now, or should i wait for another time?
Por el momento tengo mucho para compartir de : Insulina (=Justicia Secunda), Milenrama, Sana santa ( Lippia Alba), Hoja Santa ( Piper Auritum), Equisetum, Malvarosa, frambuesa de tallo azul, frambuesa roja, frambuesa negra, té limón, nísperos, sik'ol ( Sapindas Saponaria).
Perhaps yarrow or hollyhocks? I could also go to her garden another time when I am there. I assume we'd have to dig them ourselves, but I haven't asked her yet.
